Pre-Emergents

Pre-emergent herbicides prevent new weeds, or any other plant, from sprouting, but do not kill existing weeds. This type of herbicide creates a “chemical barrier” that blankets the ground. It works well in flowerbeds and in lawns as long as the earth is not disturbed. However, its application can be expensive.

Creekside offers a lawn pre-emergent in February and May that is timed to prevent crabgrass. We also offer an August application to prevent the spread of annual blue grass. Naturally, pre-emergents also prevent the sprouting of nutsedge (nutgrass) and broad leaf weeds. We charge per application and definitely recommend the use of lawn pre-emergents.

Bedding area pre-emergent applications are offered to our customers in April, July and November. A January application is also available and you may contact us to schedule this. Bedding pre-emergents work well on their own, but an exceptional level of weed control occurs for our "Lawn Care & Weed Control" customers who receive the combination of pre & post-emergent applications.
